Today we farewell one of our longest serving Junglefyers, Andrew Wands who has been our Horticulture Manager for over five years. Andrew and his partner are leaving Australia to embark on an epic journey of the ‘Great Himalayan Trail’, walking some 1300-1600kms across the breadth of Nepal.
Andrew joined Junglefy at the start of one of our biggest living infrastructure projects – the iconic One Central Park. Andrew was instrumental in delivering this project and managing the team who maintain the vast hanging gardens.
Throughout his time at Junglefy, Andrew has shown consistency and dedication to his work. Andrew was recognised in 2017 as the winner of the inaugural ‘Junglefyer of the Year’ Award for consistently displaying the Junglefy values of collaboration, authenticity, leadership and transformation.
‘Andrew has been an instrumental member of the Junglefy team and will be greatly missed at Junglefy Australia. I have no doubt that we will be seeing him Junglefying another part of the world in the very near future as we expand our mission to reconnect people with nature. Best of luck with your adventures, Wandsy’, said Jock Gammon, Junglefy’s founder and Managing Director.
For Andrew’s final parting words, we asked him a couple of questions:
What is your favourite Junglefy project & why?
Eagle Street, Brisbane – this is a newly completed project and it looks amazing! It’s totally unique and I’ve never seen anything like it before. Love it.
Most memorable moment at Junglefy:
The first few days of working at One Central Park. The views from the BMU (Building Maintenance Unit) and working on such an iconic building was an amazing experience.
What are you most looking forward to?
Walking through the Himalayas, challenging myself and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
We wish Andrew and Izzy a warm bon voyage on their amazing adventure and sincerely thank Andrew for all of his passion and hard work at Junglefy. Best of luck from the team!
