The City of Adelaide has received an Award of Excellence in the 2017 Australian Institute of Landscape Architects’ (AILA) National Landscape Awards for its capacity to respond to big challenges. The Colonel Light Centre in Adelaide’s city centre was transformed through the addition of living infrastructure to its facade and columns, creating a living building that provides a aesthetic beauty, a wildlife habitat, rainwater harvesting and cooling properties.
The City has also previously received an AILA 2017 SA award for this project and were commended on their leadership in creating a more liveable city.
