The Rocks, in Sydney’s CBD, has long been a popular destination for tourists. The Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (SHFA) enhanced the city’s public spaces to  make The Rocks an exciting and inviting destination for all people, not just those visiting our beautiful city. Junglefy are proud to have collaborated with SHFA on the design and installation of the Cumberland Street green wall to bring the beauty and benefits of nature back into our cities.

Our Role

Junglefy designed and installed a customized aluminium frame for the moderately curved Cumberland Street green wall ensuring penetrations into the host wall was minimised. It also required oversized holes to allow for the expansion and contraction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The planting design is unique to the lighting conditions but also accommodates shapes that are representative of Worker’s cottages seen along Cumberland Street a century ago. Junglefy currently maintains both of these green walls which are thriving in their urban environment.
